Discussion of T3 on Times Radio

Managed to catch a discussion about T3 on Times Radio this morning (5th October) with The Times investigative journalist Billy Kenber, whose new book 'Sick Money' examines the influence of Global Pharma on NHS policy. They featured a lady whose life was transformed thanks to T3 and then she was denied it. Her Hypothyroidism became worse and she tried to source it privately, but was never sure of the dosage.

Very interesting to hear T3 being discussed on the radio. Let's hope the book might bring the state of Thyroid treatment to the media! There might be show notes on the Times website.

I had a quick look but couldn't find which program you were referring to.

Horrible website for a media company!

The prescribing and then the withdrawal of T3 isn't unusual, as it comes down to cost and not to the patients' wellbeing.

Big Pharma had introduced levothyroxine (T4 only) supposed to convert to T3. T4 being inactive and T3 active.. Dr John Lowe stated that doctors were paid (in USA) to prescribe levothyroxine and that's why it became the No.1 prescription.

The BTA organisation withdrew T3 (except it can now be prescribed if an Endocrinologist is in agreement}. Few endocrinolgists will prescribe as many still insist that levothyroxine suits everyone. That's untrue.

The Organisation also withdrew the original thyroid hormone replacements (NDTs - natural dessicated thyroid hormones) given since 1892 and saved lives from then on without blood tests and only the skill of the doctors) and which contains all of the hormones a healthy thyroid gland would have.

NDTs were then put on the black list so that no hypo patient could have it prescribed.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Frolie. A member here called Airmed used to post frequently about Billy Kenber and the T3 fiasco. Her posts are here healthunlocked.com/user/Airmed
