Just wanted to share some positive news for a change.
Just spoken for the first time to my new GP after changing surgeries a week ago.
If I had the energy I'd be dancing.
He was a little surprised that my private blood tests results wouldn't have raised concern or be taken into account.
He was a little mystified as to why my private diagnosis from a reputable private consultant wasn't accepted.
He instantly changed my medical certificate from 'low mood and anxiety' to ME, himself stating in this instance that low mood and anxiety was not a diagnosis but a symptom.
He instantly ordered blood tests to test for thyroid antibodies and questioned why this hadn't been done in the last 18 months.
He explained to me why the ultrasound referral had been rejected (ultrasound departments have scaled right back and will only accept referrals from endos at the moment apparently).
He wants me to write down a full list of my symptoms and bring in the private blood test results to be attached to my notes.
I know that I still have a ways to go and I know that if my TSH doesn't show as over 5 on 2 separate results I won't be considered for treatment but oh........just being listened to means so very much.

What brilliant news! I’m so pleased for you. I know changing surgery was scary, it was for me, but this was obviously the best thing you could have done, and it’s got you on the way to proper treatment of your Hashimoto’s. I’m doing a little virtual dance on your behalf.
Isn't it! I would say no one would believe the difference it has made but as there are so many on here who have been dismissed, ignored and otherwise neglected I know that isn't true.
