Switching from thybon henning to morningside T3... Does T3 brand change affect symptoms for same dose?

I have recently changed to NHS prescribed T3 ( Morningside, liothyronine sodium).

After about 3 weeks I noticed the return of afternoon fatigue.

While on Thybon Henning ( liothyronine hydrochloride) My energy levels were good and hypo symptoms had resolved.

My question is: are T3 preparations as inconsistent as T4 preparations? Is liothyronine sodium less potent than liothyronine hydrochloride? Will I gradually readjust and get back to no symptoms of hypo again? Has anyone else experienced return of symptoms with brand change?

Thank you for that. I feel that morningside is less potent too. I have some of each and have started taking thybon henning in morning and morningside midday. Maybe that will improve things while I still have stocks.

Yes!! I have noticed tiredness and fatigue in the afternoons having changed to Morningside from Mercury Pharma. But worse than that I have been plagued by joint and muscle pain - not sure if this is a coincidence or not......

Yes. I have had very achey, cold hands, arms and wrists. Back to wearing sweaters on a hot day! Feels like awful rheumatism. Worst for me is that the insomnia has returned and low mood. It isn't just fatigue is it? Grrrr. It took about 4 months to get well after starting Thybon Henning and 2/3 weeks on Morningside to lose it all. Have you identified what it is in Morningside .......fillers.....or..just less potent?

Do you find Mercury Pharma more effective in eliminating symptoms?

I haven't noticed feeling cold, but daytime and evening tiredness yes, and a range of aches and pains in muscles/joints. I am going back on to Mercury Pharma at the end of this week, I didn't have these symptoms then. I have no idea what the problem is with Morningside - the excipients seem to be broadly the same, but it certainly feels less potent. Either that or it's just a huge coincidence.

I stopped Morningside on Sunday, starting back on Thybon Henning on Monday. I have a couple of months supply in the cupboard. After only 2 days my hands and wrists feel much easier so I think it was the Morningside. Fatigue has gone too. I looked at the ingredients of Mercury Pharma and decided they were not too different from Morningside.......for me I think it' s the gum arabic that those companies use as binder. I shall ask my GP for Teva, which is the closest to Thybon Henning. Failing that I'll ask for a private script and buy from Roseway again.

I had hoped to do a straight swap and get away with it.....ha ha....some hope hey?
