In April I developed AFibrillation which is persistent and am currently awaiting an echocardiogram prior to having a cardioversion (private cardiologist)
On 24 April my (NHS) Thyroid results were:
TSH 0.01 Range 0.27-4.2
Free T3 5.2. 3.1 - 6.8
Free Thyroxine 22.9. 12-22
As I still experience many symptoms of Hypothyroidism I am wondering if this test result could point to a problem with the Pituitary gland and AFib has been an outcome? Needless to say the nurse who ‘manages’ my hypothyroidism (🥺) immediately reduced my Thyroxine. I have just ordered a private blood test to monitor the current situation but would welcome any thoughts. My concern is if it is an undiagnosed pituitary related problem is there a possibility I continue to be affected by AFib? (I realise AFib can return despite treatment but obviously want to eliminate any other health concern I might have that would almost guarantee it reoccurring).
