Hello Mrshappyme . i have copy /pasted the duplicate post you wrote because it gives more of your symptoms .... and might help people reply better.
"hi 9 weeks a go i had high blood preasure and dr put me on 1..25 ramipril. frist 2 weeks fine then i started haveing pounding heart and in top of back. i take it at 7pm as my dr told me . 1 hour after taking it i get apounding and in my top back. but it seems each day i take it its getting wrose it wakes me up in the night very bad beating and twichy pains in my chest now and then .this as got worse the last week i woke up last night with the same syntoms and iv felt very clamy today . iv rung my doctor waiting to see what shes surgest as i feel like the ramipril is causing this .over the last 9 weeks since iv been on it it seems like each one i have its makeing me worse. so im going to ask to come of it .i cant take anther onee as the pain and pounding in my back its not normal and the pounding heart .i have a prolased bladd too so i have a pressery ring in and they can cause you to have a uti infection .which i have at the moement iv tryed 3 different antibiotics and the pounding is worse and the pain in heart and back. i cant take this any more i just want to feel alittle comfy for a while. "
I don't know anything about blood pressure tablets, but i understand how unpleasant some of the side effects can be .. (my mum was on them ... and also had the prolapse/ ring /uti/ antibiotics problems you have .. so i do understand how hard it is to be so uncomfortable .
I just looked up NHS Ramipril information and it does say chest pain means you should contact the doctor. So i hope they the Doctor is some help when they contact you.
Sorry i can't be more help .. just wanted to say.. 'i understand' and send a hug.

Thank-you for your kind response . I did contact my Dr she said stop them for 4 weeks see how I am . The pain as gone and I'm not waking up in pain . My blood preasure is going back up now . With me having a prolase bladder it's like I can feel a throbing feeling in lower and ùpper abdemon . And in my upper top back it there concently now so I think its something to do with my prolase .
If you haven't been tested for thyroid, I think you ought to be. Reading your list of symptoms, they could very well be caused by hypothyroidism. Even the high blood pressure. High blood pressure is not a disease, it is a symptom of something else wrong in the body, and rather than just handing out dangerous drugs, your doctor should be trying to find out why you have high blood pressure. Testing thyroid should be the first step. So, if it hasn't been done, insist that it is.
iv had my thyroid funtion test . im waiting on a heart scan iv been waiting 3 months now i get told that theres a back log so im still waiting for test . ihad a prolapased bladder january last year dr said he would book aemerency op . but had a ring fitted but keep getting uti infections .i was fine up untill last year wen i had a prolase balleder and a fleshy lump came away from me wen i urined last feb i told my gingocoligest and she said it could of been a blood clot or a polpys
hi mrshappyme - i had high blood pressure in a test last autumn (when i started having thyroid tests) and the dr put me on ramipril. I had some sideeffects - dizzy and nauseous and some weird chest feelings - and i told the nurse at my next catch-up test & she said lots of people get side-effects and to take it just before i went to sleep so the effects would happen while i was asleep. A few weeks later and i was still sometimes having chest pains during the day so i phoned back and spoke to the dr and she changed the medication from ramipril to losartan, which I'm finding much better.
i'm now wonderign whether the issue was actually thyroid related as i used to have missed beats and multiple heart beats but haven't had any of these once i was taking >50mg levothyroxine. Might get the blood pressure tested again once the thyroid medication is settled!
(to be honest i feel like the drs should be a bit more upfront that lots of people get sideeffects from ramipril from the start. But just to say there are other medications out there which are fine and i didn't have any arguments from the dr about changing medication when i said ramipril gave me chest pains so i hope your dr is the same)
