I have been taking 150mcg Thyroxine and 20mcg T3 for the last month. No apparent side effects so far, except a splitting headache which started yesterday afternoon. (Can’t remember the last time I had a headache)
Are headaches one of the possible side effects of T3?
Apart from the headache I’ve been feeling better... less tired.

Sorry I can’t really help with some resolve, however, I began T3 treatment several weeks ago and frequently develop severe headaches approximately an hour or so afterwards. I never avail myself of the side effects information on medication because sure enough I will have it! Perhaps this is cited as a possible side effect? One of my key symptoms of Hashi’s was migraine anyway.
My headache started 4 hours after morning dose yesterday so not as quick. I took painkillers after a few hours and thought it had gone but woken up with it again this morning!
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
Thanks for that advice Slowdragon, for the links, and the reminder about biotin!
I am better than I was last summer. I had put on a huge amount of weight and hadn't lost any in the change of diet, but since Christmas have lost half a stone which is a good start.
I had bad headaches when I increased levo and then when I started t3. Thankfully they only carried on for a few days and then went away. That was my experience and I had the same thing, had it one day, took painkillers and next day it had come back.
I've been through two dose increases of levo, then reduction, then addition of T3 and now another reduction of levo trying to get the levels right. It's taken over 7 months now and I've realised that my body needs a lot of time to adjust to the dosage changes. It's frustrating but i am feeling loads better. Good luck.
