Normal TSH but hyperthyroid?

Hi there! I'm sorry for sounding dim, but I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with me. The regular drs aren't helping at all and blame everything on anxiety and "hormonal imbalance". My Dr also says you can't test hormonal imbalance, so basically "deal with it".

I have quite a few symptoms of hyperthyroid (feeling hot all the time, flushed face, weight loss, rapid heartbeat) but my TSH is normal (0.9). Is it worth it to check my T4 and T3 privately? I also have worryingly low cholesterol, feel faint and have headaches. Just trying to exclude some things off my list. I feel helpless and done with feeling terrible and grumpy all the time. I'm only 38. Thanks for any replies!

Without Free T4 and Free T3, you are not going to get very far, I'm afraid.

How low is your cholesterol? Mine is low - despite being hypothyroid. Whilst cholesterol is intricately linked to thyroid hormones, our between-individual variations are also important.

Thanks for replying. So you'd say I should get my T4 and T3 checked as well?

My cholesterol is super low:

Total Cholesterol: 2.4 mmol/l or 93 mg/dl

HDL: 1.16 mmol/l or 45 mg/dl

LDL: 0.92 mmol/l or 36 mg/dl

Yes, I would. It shouldn't have to be you paying for it, but if that is the only option...
