Morning everyone. I know we are advised to try different thyroxine medications to see what suits if we have problems. Does anyone know which product/manufacturer uses the least preservatives, b numbers etc and which brand would be the best alternative to NDT. Many thanks xx

ThyroidUK has a document listing brands, click on each one for ingredients:

helvella also has a comprehensive document but I don't seem to have the link.
But what do you mean by "least"?
Smallest total weight of other ingredients (excipients)?
Smallest number of excipients?
It could be better to have small amounts of many excipients. Or greater amounts of fewer excipients.
Although some cases are more obvious than others, this is not something you can just count and get a useful answer.
Some makes of levothyroxine, such as the USA makes Synthroid and Levoxyl, have exactly the same size/weight of tablet for every dosage from 25 to 300 micrograms! Therefore, taking 100 plus 25 has exactly twice the weight of excipients as a single 125 tablet.
Even if you took the smallest tablet, with the fewest excipients, if one of those causes you problems it might be a bad choice.
I am looking at the best option for gluten free and with the least additives, thank you
All UK levothyroxine tablets are gluten free.
Indeed, with a couple of very obvious exceptions, all UK medicines are gluten-free. Although this might not be true worldwide, I'd be surprised if we were not going in that direction everywhere.
Afraid I do not know the weights of levothyroxine tablets so cannot answer if you mean least as in "least total weight" of excipients. And the answer will depend on your dosing.
My document (see my profile) lists all UK levothyroxine products and you should be able to find the ingredients readily. If you mean least as in "smallest number of excipients", then I suggest you look at the documentation for each product.
The smallest number of excipients is usually found in levothyroxine oral solution products (also listed in my document). But the total quantity shoots up from, maybe, around 100 milligrams per tablet, to several grams per dose.
