Hello people I thought Id give you an update on progress since starting 125mcg on 08/05/2021. I feel better now having been on the higher dosage for 7+ weeks. Im being very strict with my medication regime. I try and take my dose 1-3 hours before I eat my breakfast. The dizziness has gone, touch wood. Sometimes I get a bout of fatigue where I am struggling to focus, but it subsides after a while. I take the following to try and help myself too.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B complex

Vitamin D 4000iu

I also take a small dose of propranolol as sometimes I get anxiety, I had anxiety before hypothyroidism however I think having an underactive thyroid can increase the chance of having anxiety.

All in all I do feel better I just hope I can keep on the right track and keep my under active thyroid happy.

Thank you for all your advice

PS ill use this post for motivation if in the future. I become ill again

Once we begin to feel better it encourages us to continue on our journey to feeling well again.

Sometimes it happens more quickly than we expect but there can be a rainbow if GP is knowledgeable and increases our dose when necessary and that he/she also knows to check vitamins/minerals.

Did you get your Vit B12 and Vit D checked before you began supplementing? The reason being that B12, for instance, if it is low that a check for pernicious anaemia be taken before supplementing.

How much propranolol are you currently taking

Is this every day?

Propranolol can slow uptake and conversion of levothyroxine

Also may lower vitamin D/magnesium levels

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

As you supplement vitamin D, and on propranolol, look at adding magnesium supplement.

Any magnesium must be minimum 4 hours away from levothyroxine

Web links about taking important cofactors - magnesium and Vit K2-MK7

Magnesium best taken in the afternoon or evening, but must be four hours away from levothyroxine
