Jujo, Yes it most certainly can. Here's a list of hypothyroid symptoms thyroiduk.org/if-you-are-un...

It sounds as if you may not be appropriately medicated for your hypothyroidism. How much levothyroxine are you prescribed?

Do you know what your most recent thyroid blood test results were?

Afraid so!

Under/wrongly medicated hypothyroidism plays havoc with the body (and the mind too) as you will have seen in the link from RA.

Avoid pushing yourself until things improve....I speak from experience!!

Post any labs you have ....members can then see what is going on. and will offer help.

Take care

Yes absolutely. Common that muscles are tight, so difficult to straighten leg, and weak thigh muscles too

Low B12 can be factor too. Can cause dizziness and feeling like drunk/walking on rolling boat on rough sea

Low vitamin D extremely common and leads to bone pain and sore joints

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies. 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease

Ask GP to test vitamin levels if not been tested yet

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

Make sure you get a copy of results for your records, I always keep a copy so I can compare them each time I have a blood test. You are legally allowed copies. Best of luck.
