Hi,
Can anyone look at my blood test please?
TSH - 2.21 (0.27-4.2mIU/L)
FreeT3 - 4 (3.1-6.8pmol/L)
FreeThyroxine - 20.6 (12-22pmol/L)
Thyroglobulin antibodies - 11.5 (0-115IU/ml)
Thyroid peroxidase antibodies - 14.3 (0-34IU/m
Thank you!

Are you taking any thyroid medication?
No, I have never taken anything for my thyroid

In that case your results are classed as euthyroid (normal).
A normal healthy person would have a TSH of no more than 2, often around 1, with FT4 around mid-range-ish. Because none of us are tested for thyroid function when in health, we don't know where our own individual "normal" is. Your TSH is a little high, your FT4 is in the upper part of it's range, that could be your normal but as far as doctors are concerned your results will be classed as normal.
What makes you ask? Do you have any symptoms of hypothyroidism? Did you also get Vit D, B12, Folate and Ferritin checked?
Thank you very much for your answer.I am asking because I am unable to gain weight, fatigued all the time, memory problems and I already been diagnosed with Crohn's disease.
Yes.
Ferritin - 38 (13-150ug/L)
B12 - 99 (25.1-165pmol/L)
Folate - 19 (>2.9ug/L)
Vitamin D - 103 (50-200nmol/L)
It's likely your Crohns causing the symptoms, I have UC and have the same problems.

B12 is OK, with Active B12 I aim for 100+
Folate is fine.
Vit D is OK, the Vit D Society and Grassroots Health both recommend a level between 100-150nmol/L.
Ferritin - 38 (13-150ug/L)
This is a problem.
NICE Clinical Knowledge Summary states:
In all people, a serum ferritin level of less than 30 micrograms/L confirms the diagnosis of iron deficiency.
So even though you don't automatically come into that category your level is very low.
Symptoms of low ferritin include:
◾Weakness
◾Fatigue
◾Difficulty concentrating
◾Poor work productivity
◾Cold hands and feet
◾Poor short-term memory
◾Difficulty remembering names
◾Dizziness
◾Pounding in the ears
◾Shortness of breath
◾Brittle nails
◾Headaches
◾Restless legs
I have a friend with Crohn's disease and I know that symptoms of that can be weight loss and fatigue, she has trouble with iron levels and needs to take iron tablets.
As your ferritin is so low - and don't let your GP tell you it's fine because it's in range, point out how below 30 is iron deficiency and yours is much nearer to that than the top of the range - ask your GP to do an iron panel to see if you have iron deficiency and a full blood count to see if you have anaemia.
Some experts say that the optimal ferritin level for thyroid function is between 90-110 ng/ml.
If you can improve your ferritin level then you may have better conversion of T4 to T3 which would raise your FT3 level, yours is currently very low compared with your FT4 level.
