Hello lovely community! I hope you are all keeping as well as possible... I have been prescribed t3/t4 for a couple of years now after a mammoth battle to get it prescribed. I tested positive for the DI02 gene hence why I was finally able to get the T3. I’m moving to Cornwall later this year and as far as I can see from NHS lists they are not a council that prescribesT3? In which case what would happen to me? Can the NHS just stop meds from one council to the other? In order to get T3 prescribed I even had to go totally T4 free for 3 weeks to see what my THS was doing. Needless to say I became quite ill and it took months for me to get back to any semblance or normality! I can’t bear to go through anything like this again so if anyone can help/ advice I will be so grateful so I can start to prepare myself now... thank you! X

Moving to Cornwall and afraid T3 will be stopped
Cornwall has one of the highest rates of T3 prescriptions
openprescribing.net/analyse...
I think that now works against any new prescriptions - I was refused in 2017/18 :
With a T3 at 25% and a T4 at 110% I was told I was over medicated and needed a dose reduction as my TSH was at 0.01 :
I'm Graves post RAI treatment at our one and only hospital in 2005 :
I saw privately the Head of Endocrinolgy in 2016 as to why I was so ill ?
I received no real answer, except the suggestion that I should read up and source what I needed on the " net " and he would be happy to help me privately :
This infuriates me that we have to even ask this question, we have a National Health Service for goodness sake, the same medications should be available to those who need them throughout the country.I'm delighted for you that Cornwall seems to be one of the better CCG's as SD has pointed out.
Good luck going forward.
Totally agree with you it’s totally bonkers!! I know someone who went from York to London and her T3 was stopped! Utterly outrageous and I was so worried... I cannot go back to where I was. It’s a terrifying thought 😢😢
If necessary you may need private prescription
Specialist pharmacies in U.K. can supply Thybon Henning 20mcg tablets at £1 per tablet
NHS 20mcg T3 is currently £118 per 28 tablets (down from £268)
NHS still being ripped off
Hi Piggyoink I'm in the same position, moving to Cornwall and on t4/t3 combo currently and worried I won't be able to get a prescription. The high rate of the prescribing is very encouraging. Good luck for both of us!
