lauriegraham,

Doctors I have tried discussing this with always dismiss but self-medicating I make small own adjustment as since introducing T3/NDT my requirements are a definite summer ‘less’ and winter ‘more’.

Before diagnose, so broken were my thermogenic mechanisms I would shiver in a hot bath! T3 introduction bought a sudden heater inside that I couldn’t switch off. Things evened out within days, and today over five years later thermodynamic efficiency still improves, evidenced this winter by a first without an electric blanket in my bed.

Thyroid hormones are well known for their influencing metabolism & thermogenesis, and replacement meds are suppose to continue that control. But what if deficient of adequate thyroid hormone for so long means that mechanism now holds an altered base line, less window of tolerance or interacts with the other mechanisms in a different way giving a higher sensitivity to environmental temperatures.

A great article on seasonal T3 fluctuation supported by research papers, although one would have to be foolhardy in allowing a doctor to decrease med dose for fear it would never be increased again 😉.

Thanks for sharing lauriegraham.
