Hi all, this is the first time my gp has agreed to test T3, I know tsh should be low and t4 higher end of the range so what is best for T3? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Is mid range ok? Thanks x

The aim of a treated Hypo patient on Levo only, generally, is for TSH to be 1 or below with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges, if that is where you feel well. We are all different so we have to find our optimal levels ourselves.

Your FT4 is 71.54% through range.

Your FT3 is 50% through range.

Not quite balanced but might be OK for you. So if you feel good on your current dose of Levo with those levels then that's fine.

That’s helpful thank you. I do generally feel well, I just have tingling in my toes, fingers and scalp along with hair loss. So trying to work out what is causing the tingling. I’ve got my Vit D up to 155nmol now & gp tested for diabetes and calcium etc which came back normal. Ferritin, folate, iron quite high. I’m thinking B12 related as it was on the lower end of the ranges but gp refuses to consider it as a possibility.

Low B12 is extremely common when hypothyroid

Those symptoms suggest low B12

What was B12 result

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Only multivitamins which I stopped January time.

First results are from March 2021. I’ve included the results from February too, I personally think that’s a big drop in levels in one month?? But gp just says “it’s all in normal range so it’s fine”

B12 serum 524. (200-910) Total 341 (300-569) (535 feb 2021)

Active 69 (37-188). ( 83 feb 2021)

Folate 31 (8.83-60). (45 feb 2021)

Gp said to take b12 supplements but will that be enough?

Thanks for looking x

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid) may be beneficial. This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

Difference between folate and folic acid

chriskresser.com/folate-vs-...

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Igennus Super B is good quality and cheap vitamin B complex. Contains folate. Full dose is two tablets per day. Many/most people may only need one tablet per day. Certainly only start on one per day (or even half tablet per day for first couple of weeks)

Or Thorne Basic B is another option that contain folate, but is large capsule

IMPORTANT If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results
