I need a private blood draw

Good morning

Long story short I have got a massive blood phobia and I’m not joking.

I’ve been on a Machine after surgery

And it’s happened.

My bp drop low and in out.

I’ve got to tell people about now.

For years my wife pulled my leg saying I’m

Chicken lol

So yesterday I tried to do a test myself

It did not go well and I physically can’t do it again.

I’m desperate to find a private clinic

To fill them little bottles up with a needle.

Medi checks I have asked this morning

And they are not giving information because it’s not the test for them.

The reply

We only provide the phlebotomy service for customers who have purchased test kits with us. You would need to contact nearby clinics to see if they provide that service.

And I have emailed spirehealthcare.com/

I’m still waiting on a reply.

I’m desperate to find somewhere to help me

I did not know it be so difficult to find somewhere.

I did go up my local hospital where they do the bloods but no luck they can’t do it.

So South Wales Area

If I have to travel to get it done I will.

I can’t give this kit to anyone else in my family because they will not do it.

And can’t afford wasted it.

Thank you for your help with this.

I'm in North Wales and my district hospital wont do private blood draws unless a GP requests it. My GP wont allow it at the surgery. Some GPs do.

ThyroidUK has a list of private phlebotomy services here:

thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...

It looks like some cover South Wales; however, you'd have to enquire as to whether they are offering the service at the moment with Covid restrictions still in place.

That's not too bad, we say no later than 9am because TSH will start to fall then but if that's the earliest you can get you haven't got much choice.

Graph of daily rhythm of thyroid hormones here, TSH is the top one:

Unfortunately I have a GP who is TSH obsessed too and refuses to discuss FT4 and FT3. Until January I had an Advanced Nurse Practioner who was brilliant and was fine with suppressed TSH as long as FT4 and FT3 were in range, but he has now left and I'm back to square one with the GP. She will continue to tell me I am overmedicated because my TSH is suppressed and ignore me when I want to discuss FT4 and FT3 so I will continue to ignore her when she tells me to reduce my dose of Levo.

Aww that’s why they have pushed me to do a private blood test I’ve not had a proper test now I’ve been on 100mcg levothyroxine

From end of October to 21 January

I’ve come from 20.6 to 2.78 tsh

But I was only on 100 mcg for maybe 3

Weeks.

The hospital asked for a test and only did tsh

The hospital asked for t4 and tsh

So I’ve not got a clue how I’m doing now. Tbh I feel the same had before

I’m shocked the way they look at this

Some are better than different doctors
