Meds before blood draw

Morning all.

I have a blood test Wednesday morning I take my levo at night and through the day I take magnesium, b12, b complex.

When do I take my last levo and when do I retake the missed tablets.. I have somewhere in my foggy brain that I don't take tonight (Monday) seems a long time til Wednesday after my blood test.. TIA

Miss night dose and take levo after blood draw. You also take night dose as usual on the following day. You can take vitamins/minerals as usual.

That would leave 36 hours between last dose levothyroxine and test

It should be maximum of 24 hours before test

Last dose levothyroxine should be 24 hours before test

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning.

Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal

Ditto what SlowDragon says about altering timing. Leave 24 hours, not 36 hours as that would give a false low FT4 result.

Important to stop taking vitamin B complex a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS as contains biotin

Biotin can falsely affect test results
