I have heard that research is now being undertaken to test the efficacy of the Pfizer and other vaccines in people who have immunosuppressive diseases - specifically RA.

Will the findings be published on Health Unlocked?

Can I, having completed my vaccine doseage, have antibody testing to ensure I am protected? I have been shielding for over a year now and beginning to suffer from the effects of living alone but I want to continue to be well (having made so many sacrifices to keep safe) so, when I am advised to stop shielding, I wish to be assured that I am at the high end of vaccine efficacy.

HealthUnlocked is the platform which provides this forum, it is not ThyroidUK itself.

lynmynott is the best person to answer your question.

I don't think anyone here can answer this question, you should perhaps direct it to your GP.

Thank you. We will have to wait for the research to be published and then I will take the matter up with my GP.

I personally would give anything not to have the vaccine. I have a long history of having very severe reactions to newer drugs, and especially the most rare bizarre reactions. Many of them have been really unpleasant. The number of post-vax deaths and injuries has been shocking to me. I note the reports daily of various persons suffering after this vaccine, thinking they are doing something good for themselves or their families. And there are also official reporting websites that have thousands listed, and considering that only about 10% of adverse events get reported, that's not very encouraging. Many of these people didn't have underlying health conditions and weren't even that old, many of them were elderly. I myself had Covid 19 at the beginning of the outbreak, and being immuno suppressed, I was surprised at how I fared. Later on, I discovered that being immuno suppressed for my transplant actually was a benefit when it comes to this disease, because my immune system cannot create the cytokine storm that makes the disease so deadly and inflammatory for many people. It was actually not nearly as bad as many other viruses I have had. I did get an upper respiratory infection, and after I recovered I noticed that I was tired and wiped out for a lot longer than is normal. I also went through an extreme phase of hair loss for months afterwards. But overall it is not worth risking my life or permanent disability just to have a vaccination. I was able to cure myself with natural remedies that worked great. I would like to wait a few years and see what happens to all the other people have been vaccinated. I also don't feel like opening the door to endless vaccinations for various versions of Covid 19, because it is just too dangerous. I also am very aware of how the numbers have been overly inflated for political and financial gain, people have spoken out about this in some have even quit their jobs because they did not want to be part of the hoax that was going on, convincing people that it was worse than it waz. I know there were hot spots but there were plenty of places that were not hot spots at all and people got punished with job losses and lockdowns, just the same. I honestly don't think immuno suppressed people have that much threat from covid, as much as a person with a normal immune system that can go wacky on them and make them end up in the ICU.

I am an honors science major, and have been studying the topic since before most knew it existed. I do not believe that a suppressed immune system is going to fight off any virus properly, but with this virus, as I stated, the threat is not so much the virus itself, as the powerful immune system freaking out. They have compared it to a severe case of lupus, something I am also very familiar with. This is why the lupus medication hydroxychloroquine was helping patients so well, it alters immune activity.

You have a very different and interesting 'take' on the problem. Thank you for your input.
