These are my results for this year and are all slightly up on last year’s. I know I’m not in the range to be medicated but I’m really not feeling good. I’ve been taking my vitamins and those levels are all fine but my hair has got thinner, I’m tired all the time, the list goes on but what I’m having most trouble with are UTI infections. I’ve been seeing a consultant microbiologist for the past 6 months and he had me on antibiotics for that time. I had to stop because of the side effects and within 4 days I had another infection! I’m seeing my gynaecologist at the end of March to discuss my MRI scan although in the letter to my GP he can’t really see anything mechanical that could be the cause. I am thinking it’s linked to my thyroid and I’d be grateful if anyone knows of an up to date study on this link so I’m armed with as much information as possible. I’ve struggled for a long time with this problem and have given up lots of life’s little pleasures such as cakes, biscuits anything sugary, coffee, tea, alcohol, long soaks in the bath! If I sit around too much it sets it off, too much exercise, I just can’t seem to win. I forgot to mention my antibodies are 116. Also tried D-Mannose to no avail. In a perfect world the GP would give me the lowest dose of thyroxine and all would be right with the world, or at least with my bladder ☺️

If you’re thyroid antibodies are high this confirms autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s

Both Ft3 and Ft4 are low

Was this test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water

Have you had cholesterol levels tested?

High cholesterol is linked to being hypothyroid

Push for 3-6 month trial of levothyroxine

Standard starter dose of levothyroxine is 50mcg

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose increase

Now I look again these don’t look all that good! It was a Medichecks test done first thing as recommended here. I didn’t take any B12 for ages before.

I’m taking a B12 with folate, the one recommended here (I sense a theme), K2, Vit D prescribed by Dr and probiotics. I was also taking ciprofloxacin twice daily for 5 months for UTI but stopped that due to muscle/tendon issues.

Not had a cholesterol test for 15 years! Will get that sorted ASAP.

Not on a gluten free diet, did consider it but that might push my husband, who does most of the cooking, over the edge!! Might say the consultant recommended we try this 🤭

Thanks for replying so quickly, much appreciated.
