taking lio 15 mcg and leo 100mcg. 2 months now. am im us and endo useless . been taking leo over 4yrs and finally after begging got 5mcg lio than 10 and now 15 lio. very poor converter so thats my reason for leaving off 24 hrs for lev and lio. admire greygoose, slowdragon and seaside susie opinions greatly. tsh 0.01 result. range(0.4 -4.5) free t4 1.6 result . (range 0.8- 1.8) free t3 3.3 result. (range 2.3 - 4.2 ) . is it possible that i could be over range w. my free t3 result.? this forum is a god sent, god bless you all.

Your FT3 isn't over range. You probably won't feel better until you get closer to 3.8. I was still symptomatic at 3.8 because of poor conversion so you may need more T3.

thankyou jrbarnes. i didnt leave off the recommended 8-12 hrs for lio. last lio was almost 26 hrs. result 3.3 is then false low ? feeling much better on 15 lio but endo looking for reason to lower dosage. tsh obsessed. afraid to do blood test proper way for fear of it being to high and her freaking out. just left with some annoying tintinitis. so good to chat w. others that understand that its long road getting well.

I've found when taking T3 it's better to go by how you feel. I get a Total T3 test along with my FT3. It's not a test usually given and some might dispute it's usefulness but as you take more T3 you should see the Total T3 levels go up. I've been getting this test for 10 years with my full thyroid panel. I like to use all tests that are available.

When I was on 88mcg of Levo my T4 was at the very top of the range and my Total T3 was 76. Even when my FT3 levels were at 3.8 the highest my Total T3 topped was 89 and my TSH was 1.3. The highest I've ever gotten my Total T3 was on 2 grains of NDT at 117. 125 is a great improvement!

I know this is an old post ….

very poor converter so thats my reason for leaving off 24 hrs for lev and lio.

Ft3 is low because you left 24 hours between last dose T3 and test

Day before test split T3 into 3 x 5mcg doses spread through the day at roughly equal 8 hour intervals

Last 5mcg dose T3 8-12 hours before test

Last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
