Hi

Quick question, I’ve recently introduced Vit D spray, and I’m going to take magnesium calm powder staring with just 1/4 tsp - are these best taken at the same time? If so lunch or dinner time? With food ok?

Thank you

You can take them at the same time, no problem, both need to be away from thyroid meds by 4 hours. No problem taking them with food.

You might find the magnesium calming, if it's too relaxing then you might want to take it nearer bedtime.

Best taken at bedtime

Or, if you take levothyroxine at bedtime, then minimum of 4 hours before levothyroxine

I take my Levo first thing in the morning as I need an 8pm snack 😊

So taking magnesium at bedtime should help improving sleep

Likely to make you feel nicely relaxed

Be careful if you have kidney disease (maybe others?) otherwise a risk of muscle weakness. Hence my mum avoids the magnesium but absorbs D quite well without it.

I was concerned about kidney disease as one of my blood markers did have a comment ‘CKD stage 2 only if there is an accompanying symptom’. My dad has CKD and is on dialysis! I will maybe stay on 1/4 teaspoon and keep a close eye on my next blood markers, thank you for highlighting x
