HRT & Levothyroxine

Hi I am just wondering if I suffer from Hashimotos (Underactive Thyroid) and take Levothyroxine am I able to now use any form of HRT. I understand once upon a time it used to be a big no no! Would love to hear how the thyroid medication reacts with the HRT and others experiences. Thank you.

Would raising thyroid be included with topical Progesterone too? Because I was under the impression that Progesterone may increase the thyroid levels? Please correct me if I miss understood.

I think it depends on whether you take your HRT through the skin or by taking a pill.

My understanding is that it should not affect levo if your HRT is transdermal… I have hashis and i’m nearly 3 months in to HRT (not pills) and so far I haven’t needed to alter my levo dose. Having said that it may be too soon to tell, I’m learning as I go along😬

Hi, I’ve taken levo and oral HRT (indivina) for about 18 years with no issues

It was never mentioned to me by the Drs as an issue. The only concerns were blood pressure and previous migraines. Blood pressure became normal after starting magnesium supplements and migraines had stopped by then. I have the mirena coil and estrogen patches.
