As discussed previously.....extremely low vitamin D

Now being corrected with high LOADING dose on prescription

You will need to retest at end of prescribed vitamin D and then self supplement to maintain vitamin D at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol maybe better

Do you have any thyroid results (or did I miss them?) Before replying most people on here will need to see TSH, FT4 and FT3 , and antibody tests - whichever of these have been done, with the lab ranges (often in brackets). You can add these to your post by editing, or by adding a comment.Often more clear if you just type them in.

Then someone might be able to tell if your increased dose has been enough to raise your T4 and T3 sufficiently to alleviate symptoms or whether you need to wait another 7 weeks or so and have another blood test and another dose increase,

As Slow Dragon says above, deficiency in vitamins will reduce the efficacy of the Levo, and cause symptoms to persist.

I hope you will be able to add a bit more info so you get more good advice!

Thank you for you response. I am knew to this and finding it really difficult to attach pics I think I have now added the tsh results but don’t think I have t3 or t4 on there so do I get this done privately or does my gp do these also?

I think I got confused because you posted twice, so I didn’t see that Slow Dragon had replied with advice about blood tests.

Yes, usually it’s one pic at a time.

So, following Slow Dragon’s advice (she is experienced but I’m a newbie like you! But have been reading posts for a few months on here) when you’ve completed your loading dose of vit D hopefully GP will retest your blood for checking vit D new level.

If GP is testing your blood for anything that is the time to say “can you do TSH, FT4, FT3 and antibodies at the same time? Along with any other vitamins that were low”. If the answer is no, not necessary, you could add that you read somewhere that vit D can improve thyroid hormone levels, so you’d like to see if it’s made a difference.

And if it’s 7 weeks since your last dose increase then your thyroid blood levels need testing anyway.

GP won’t test T3 and eventually you may want to get this tested privately- lots of advice about private testing on this forum.
