In my case, I wasn’t able to wear my wedding, eternity and engagement rings for the last year because I think my joints were just a bit more swollen. I certain,y couldn’t sleep with them on like I used to do. They were also too painful during the day, even the wedding ring, which is a simple gold band and none of them are too small. I felt really sorry about that as I am very fond of those rings. I am now able to wear my wedding ring all the time since starting T3... I could be wearing the other two during the day now as well if I chose. Still can sleep in them all like before!
With me, I have put it down to (and I am speculating) low T3 causing joint swelling.
Strange we are pointing to T3 as I’ve only been taking it 2 months but have been on T4 for 12 years. This is the first time I’ve ever had this pain and I’ve not been wearing rings for about a year now since we are in lockdown.
This is very interesting Dk123 as I’ve started with finger swelling and poor circulation to fingers. I’m 5 weeks into T3 trial and never had this on Levo only.
Hi Dk123. I have carpal tunnel and I had weird sudden pains now and again in my second finger. They initially vanished when I started on t3 but within a couple of days came back with vengeance along with other joint pains and aches. I immediately went back up to my old levo dose and they were much less frequent again. So I’m wondering if it could be too big a t4 drop for you or you need a higher t3 dose.
