Presumably you have autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s
Hashimoto’s frequently has temporary hyperthyroid swings
These are due to thyroid coming under attack, cells break down and release excess thyroid hormones
After each such attack, you become a little more hypothyroid
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.
Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s or Ord’s thyroiditis)
Low vitamin levels common as we get older too
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

If TPO or TG thyroid antibodies are high this is usually due to Hashimoto’s (commonly known in UK as autoimmune thyroid disease). Ord’s is autoimmune without goitre.
About 90% of all primary hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto’s. Low vitamin levels are particularly common with Hashimoto’s. Gluten intolerance is often a hidden issue too

Come back with new post once you get full thyroid and vitamin testing results
Thankyou for your response these are my most recent results
Results suggest you are slightly hyperthyroid
Autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s, frequently starts with temporary transient hyperthyroid results and symptoms before becoming increasingly hypothyroid
Your thyroid antibodies appear to be negative for Hashimoto’s
Request ultrasound scan of thyroid
20% of Hashimoto's patients never have raised antibodies

Ultrasound scan can also look for “hot nodules” …..thyroid nodules that put out excess thyroid hormones regardless of TSH
Ok I’m waiting to be seen by an endocrinologist what would be normally the recommended treatment for this I will ask for the scan hopefully they will do it Im not sure I live in the West Midlands so will see some one at the queen elizebeth hospital
It really is all confusing to me I have always been slightly hypothyroid but not needing medication
What age are you
Thyroid often goes a bit haywire at menopause or after pregnancy
I’m 30 I have 4 children my youngest is 6 months
So levels could be settling after last pregnancy
How would I know if I need treatment or if it’s a flare up
Probably only by retesting every 3 months
And ultrasound scan can be helpful….probably next step
Ok thankyou
I paid £200 for the full panel is there one that includes all the above at a cheaper price really my g.p should but they will only test TSH

Your current results are showing slightly hypER. Is it a private test or NHS?
Do you mean a private test with antibodies? If so then either
