T3/T4 problems

Since my last post, I increased levo up to 100mcg and found that I could only tolerate 5mcg of T3. For the past week I have had heat intolerance at night, but cold during the day, I have lost weight, feel dreadful. Have been having dizzy episodes for the past 2 weeks... I'm thinking that T4 level has risen and the T3 is too much. My question is, would a sensible approach be to remain on 100mcg T4and just stop the T3, get a blood test, try T3 again. Thanks.

75mcg levi and 1.25lio 6am

1.25lio at 1.30pm

0.625 lio at 9.30pm

Previous post a month ago showed TSH was far too high

Suggest you go back on just levothyroxine and get dose increased back to at least 100mcg

Really want Ft4 at least around 18-20 (last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test) before considering adding T3

No folate or B12 results?

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

As you have Hashimoto’s are you on strictly gluten free diet

Hello SlowDragon, thanks for answering my question. Is it best to wait another couple of weeks before adding extra t4 to the 100mcg t4 dose to allow the body time to catch up? My b12 test last, was at the top of the range, but I wasn't tested for foliate. Maybe I should get a test for this, but come off the b complex and b12 supplements before doing so. I have been gluten free for nearly 2 years. Thanks for your help as always. X

If your taking vitamin B complex, it’s extremely unlikely folate is low

Generally we recommend waiting 6-8 weeks before testing and always test before increasing again
