Could you take a look at my thyroid results please?

Hi , ive recently had another blood test. Id just like to have your opinion please?

I've discovered on my looooong journey that levo over 75mcg makes me really poorly after a while, so at the moment 75 is all I take and I'm certain it's not an increase that I need. But my ft4 is confusing ?

The results are tsh 0.05 (0.27-4.2)

Ft4 - 15 (12 - 22)

Ft3 - 4.01 (3.1 - 6.8)

Why is it confusing you ? do you think it wold be higher for your tsh ? or something else.

Yes I thought with those low ft's that my tsh would be around 5 ! When i was diagnosed, years ago, my tsh was 11 and my ft4 was 13.

it 's not that neat and tidy i'm afraid. Too many things will have changed to make a comparison like that from years ago.

In particular the act of taking thyroid hormones changes the ratios of tsh/ft4 /ft3 compared to results at diagnosis when not taking any. so it wouldn't be expected to be 5 again once on Levo.

Also it's not really possible to tell much from a result in isolation , you need to look at several to see what's normal for you .Do you have other results to compare with ?

How do you feel?

I wouldn't feel good with free T4 and free T3 so low (30% and 24.6% through range respectively) - but we're all different. If you don't feel good, have you perhaps tried changing brands to see if you can tolerate a higher dose on a different brand? Or taking more levo but in two doses a day?

Your Ft4 and Ft3 are both far too low - most people will need Ft3 roughly 60% minimum through range

Likely to have very low vitamin levels with such low Ft3

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

Please add actual results and ranges

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Do you have high thyroid antibodies?

Have you ever had thyroid ultrasound scan

Are you on strictly gluten free diet

Probably Looking at some degree of central hypothyroidism, relatively common with Hashimoto’s, but rarely diagnosed

Have you considered testing for Dio2 gene variation

Presumably this test was done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test?

Not what you're looking for?
