Recent test results. Advice appreciated.

Just received my monitor my health results.

I increased my levo about 8 weeks ago from 75mcg daily to 75mcg x 5 +100mcg x2 weekly in addition to 20mcg t3. (When I tried this before my t3 went over range and I subsequently reduced back to 75mcg daily.). My results still show low ft4 and below midrange ft3. Is this a t3 or a t4 problem? Do I increase my levo or t3 to improve things? I’m still very tired, not sleeping well and have hair loss among other symptoms. TIA.

Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test and last 5mcg T3 roughly 8-12 hours before test?

Would suggest you increase levothyroxine first.

Up to 100mcg everyday

Retest in 6 weeks

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

When were vitamin levels last tested

Test was done at 8am and meds taken 24/11 hours before test. Nothing other than water before test. Currently taking selenium, magnesium, Vit d spray with k2 and zinc. Stopped b vits over a week before test. Was afraid to take too much levo due to over range t3 when I was taking 100/75 alternate days. See photo for details. Thanks. Ps. Vits tested in May. Ferritin was high, vit D good, folate a little low and B12 good

Ferritin 235 (13-150)

Folate 6.34 (>3.89)

Vit D 141 (50-175)

B12 93.2 (>37.5)

Had an iron deficiency test done (July) and results were:

Iron 20.35 (5.8-34.5)

TIBC 57.45 (45-72)

UIBC 37.1 (24.2-70.1)

As you say, just folate on low side

Are you now taking a daily good quality vitamin B complex

Remember to stop taking this a week before all blood tests

I stopped taking them over a week before latest tests and will have to try to get into the habit of taking them again. Thanks for your help once again.

Hi, I know this was a couple of months back, but what did you decide to do in the end and did it help you?

Hi. I spoke to my ND and he advised me to take a WDT (whole desiccated thyroid) product in addition to my meds. It has helped somewhat but I’m still having anxiety issues and hair loss. I haven’t retested yet so no idea of the effect on levels.
