Advice on latest results please 😊

Hi,

Just wanted some advice on my results from last week.(picture attached)I am currently on 100mcg prescription but I’ve been taking 150mcg on a Friday and Sunday, which takes me to about 114mcg per day. I’ve been feeling ok on this dose, I have not had permission from doctor to do this obvs!! My results show my TSH as 0.1 and now I worry that if my doctor requests a test he will lower my 100mcg per day prescription. Do you think my results warrant my current meds or do I need to reduce and not take the extra 50mcg per week I’ve been taking? Also could you advise me on my ferritin and Vit D levels, are they too low? lWould love your help and advice, this forum is the only thing keeping me sane since being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s; thank you sooo much for everything you all do on here🙏🏻🤩

Good evening LaLaHew, If you feel better on your current dose, you should stick to it no matter what GP says. Your vitamins aren't too bad. Ferritin would be better around 80ug/L and Vitamin D around 100. Are you taking Vitamin C with your ferritin? Likely this would also improve how you are feeling. Your conversion is good and you have scope to increase your free thyroxine by further dose increases if necessary. I understand that your TSH appears low but this reading doesn't affect how we feel. The important free T3 reading is perfectly within range and you are in no way over medicated. Hope this helps, E x

Thank you for your reply 😊I don’t currently take iron supplement, but have just got the better you iron spray and will start supplementing tomorrow, so I’ll take some vit C too; does this help to absorb the iron?

That's ok LaLaHew, the spray is fine. It may just take longer to bring up your ferritin. Yes, I take 1,000mg Vit C daily. It really helped to bring up my ferritin level which was only 7ug/L when diagnosed. Some people take less Vit C, some more. Too much will cause diarrhoea so take a dose that your gut can tolerate.

Thank you, I’ll try adding vit C and iron and see how I get on. I’m going to do another private test in December to check levels. I’m just trying to avoid the GP as I feel it’s always a battle with them!! I’m going to try the old ‘I’ve lost a box of pills’ so I can maintain my 114mcg dose😝Thanks again for taking the time to give me advice 🙏🏻

Don't let your GP reduce your dose if you feel well. My endo reduced my dose because my TSH was suppressed and I was too naive at that time to argue. It made me ill, exhausted, palpitations, etc. I suffered it for a month then went back up to 100mcgs. Good Luck x

Hey there :

I keep my ferritin up naturally with Asda little tubs of frozen chicken livers :

They are already very clean and mild to taste when cooked :

1 pot a week is sufficient, defrosted and flash fried in a little olive oil I then whizz down into a pate using a little mayonnaise it too dry and take a spoonful of this medicine a day to maintain my ferritin at an optimal level for me which seems to be up at around 90/100.
