I opted to get floravital as i have gut and digestion issues and thought this would be easier on my stomach. I take 20ml a day and on the bottle is says its 19.2mg iron, my question is am i wasting my time taking this, am i going to be able to get my iron levels up using this?
I was advised on here to take ferrous fumerate but i thought this might make my stomach issues worse?

I used to take something like this when I was younger and getting heavy periods. I was always tired back then, so it couldn't have been that effective.
Ferrous fumerate is best taken with vitamin C and I found I could tolerate it if I took a break from it for at least one week in the month. During the 'off' weeks I'd still eat liver and pate. The ferrous fumerate often causes a build up of gut bacteria and yeast (strange dark greenish stools). So I'd wait for that to normalize for a week and then I'd get back onto them again. I eventually got my levels up so high that the blood testing dept. flagged it with my GP!
I felt flushed with High levels - fortunately these dropped back to good normal reasonably quickly and I stick with liver and Spatone for iron until the next time I need a boost. It's likely I'll always have to go back to the tablets every so often as my levels do tend to decline once every couple of years.
Make sure your B12 is ok, as that is often low as well.
