Holistic treatment of Hyerthyroidism. Advise and experience.

Has anyone used an holistic treatment approach for Hyperthyroidism? The doctor is still investigating the cause of my Hyerthyroidism. However, I have been reading a lot of articles and am considering additional treatments, such as seeing a naturopath and a dietitian. Has anyone in this group taken this approach and If so has this helped with side effects of medical treatments, such as weight gain?

Thanks 🙂

Hey there again :

If you look at the Elaine Moore Graves Disease Foundation website she has devoted much time to research alternative, more holistic options for this poorly understood and badly treated auto immune disease.

Elaine has Graves and went through the convental RAI thyroid ablation in the late 1990's.

With continued ill heath and finding little help, she started her own research and now has several books published and is a well respected authority in this field.

Irrespective of whether your diagnosis is confirmed as Graves or Hashimoto's the sections on alternative diet, and life style choices may help in your wider understanding of auto immune thyroid disease.

And a little knowledge may help in choosing well, an integrated, holistic, alternative doctor. Elaine Moore's website has a world wide following, and there is an open forum, much like this amazing platform, so you may find help in locating a practioner in Australia should you ask the question.

Hi. I am using a medical herbalist. I have low vitamin d so we are doing 2000mg a day and then using a selenium tonic which has zinc in it and B6 plus a few others vitamins and magnesium that comes as a drink again with other vitamins. The selenium tonic and magnesium drink are from her directly. I have been told I will need magnesium forever. Even though I take more than 400mg a day my magnesium is just at the start of the range. The range starts at 0.6 and I’m 0.7 so the body is using a lot. It’s worth a check out. You have nothing to lose. When it comes to weight loss. I would say eat clean. Gluten free. No processed foods and cut down on your sugars and that leads to leaky gut issues. Exercise when u feel well. Giggle meditation music that actually works on the nervous system. I wish you well. I'm sure it's not 2000 milligrams a day of vitamin D! :-)

I assume 2000 IU?

What form of B6?
