hi all i have updated my profile with a allot of information about my current condition. I have not felt myself for a few years and since December 2017 my health went down hill. I would appreciate if people could look at my profile and send me relevant advice. I have had 80 ish doctors appointments and still not where i want to be but i believe allot of this is down to some poor GPs and other doctors fishing in different areas.
sorry i haven't put full details here but my profile shows the fully story of information. i believe there is a T3 issue and i seek information on how to buy and self treat should this become essential.
thank you
George

Your latest results in April 2019 strongly suggests you have autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto's
Early stage Hashimoto's, levels can swing wildly......basically as thyroid is under attack by your own body.....Thyroid breaks down and releases high levels of thyroid hormones as temporary flare
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
Medichecks currently have an offer on until end of May - 20% off
If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).
About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's.
Low vitamins are especially common with Hashimoto's. Food intolerances are very common too, especially gluten. So it's important to get TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once .
The aim of Levothyroxine is to increase the dose slowly in 25mcg steps upwards until TSH is under 2 (many need TSH under one) and FT4 in top third of range and FT3 at least half way in range
All four vitamins need to be regularly tested and frequently need supplementing to maintain optimal levels
NHS guidelines on Levothyroxine including that most patients eventually need somewhere between 100mcg and 200mcg Levothyroxine.
I really appreciate your reply and reading my profile
I had a thyroid test on tuesday and mydoctor wrote please do t3. My test was at 11.40am and i took my levo after that time, "didnt i just know it ".
Hashimotos i do belive i was tested on this around january i will check but i will also ask for it to be re-checked either way. Im due to see a private endo next week and i will ask about her doing my vitamin bloods and mentio hashimotos just to ensure its not missed.
These results i wasnt given rangers they was on a big print out of bloods from nhs. Ferritin hasnt been done. Im hopeing they add it to next months blood tests i will mention it as they are doing vit d, thyriod and tpo antibodies.
