Afternoon slump, why?

I have this drowsiness around 4 o'clock-pm on levo&T3 but on ndt I didn't have it. The higher the dose of levo the deeper it is the slump. If I reduce the levo a bit, no-slump but I don't feel ok in the rest of the day. If I increase the dose of T3 (5mcg to 10) in the morning I don't have drowsiness but my pulse increases, my head hurts, etc. How can I fix it?

Did you split your dose of NDT when you were taking that?

It might be an idea to split your dose of Levo, some people find this is better for them.

Yes I split the dose of ndt when I was on it. I tried the same with levo but it doesn't help. I split the T3 and has an effect only over 10 mcg T3 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon (no slump anymore) but at this dose, I have some nasty side effects.

Have you tried 3 x 5mcg

Taking at roughly 7am, 3pm and 11pm

Yes, I'm on these doses now with levo in the morning. If I take 125mcg levo, hit me around 4pm, I melt like ice cream and I'll be back in about an hour. But if I take 112levo, I have no such symptoms.

It may not be thyroid-related - it may just be a mid-afternoon sugar-low, so a nice cup of tea and something sweet may be enough :)

[not necessarily a MASSIVE piece of cake every day - although goodness knows some days that's not a bad plan ...] x

But why if I take a lower dose of levo I don't have this fall, as I wrote above.

Don't know - but I do know that my suggestion works for me :)
