T3 our of date

I re started taking t3 (tiromel) a few weeks ago. I was just sorting through my meds yesterday and realise they’re out of date this month! I’m still taking them. Will this be ok? X

I am taking T3 which has an expiry date of June 2019 and there doesn't appear to be any loss of potency so I'm sure your Tiromel, being so very close to the expiry date, will be fine.

Oh Thankyou. I’ve still got two boxes left and I’m only on 2 x6.5mg per day. I think they’ve stopped selling it otc now in turkey. My friend is there and has tried four chemists and they said they can’t sell it anymore 😪

Yes, it's very hit and miss in Turkey (and Greece) whether or not you can buy OTC. Officially I believe in both countries it's prescription only but occasionally a member gets lucky but it takes a fair bit of traipsing around to find a willing pharmacy.

They're not from that Bulgarian place are they? I messaged them asking for the sell by date & it was not very far away at all so I didn't buy them.

No they’re from turkey. I bought them whilst on holiday

Yes, but there is a supplier in Bulgaria selling Tiromel (along with Greek Unipharma).

I take out-of-date thyroid meds and have no problems with them. If I have to take a little extra to account for a loss of potency I do that with no qualms.
