Fast heartbeat - palpitations

I am hypo thyroid and Hoshi

Been taking 50 mcg of Levo/ synthroid and 5 mcg of cytomel t3 since April, 30 after switching from Armour thyroid.

Since last night I have been having palpitations on and off. For few hours then stops.

Is this related to hypothyroidism? Labs due on August 31, one week

Thanks

Palps are a symptom of under-medication, yes. And, you're on a very low dose.

Thanks so much. Which dose is low T 4 or T 3?

Have sent a message to my doctor, since it is weekend reply will be slow.

T3, I should imagine. That's the active hormone that causes symptoms.

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 too as these are often low when under medicated

You are in very low dose

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

If/when also on T3 make sure to take last half or third of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Just heard from my endo re palpitations and fast heartbeat

He says the reason is over medication. The feedback from people on this mentioned it was due to under medicated. I am confused!
