Thankyou. There are quite a few, is there a particular one you’d recommend / had better communications with?

Sorry, but I've never used any of them, I don't live in the UK. :)

Are you diagnosed as hypothyroid or Hashimoto’s

Or hyperthyroid

Or trying to get diagnosed

Important to test TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 plus vitamin D folate and ferritin

TPO and TG thyroid antibodies for Hashimoto’s

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

If/when also on T3 or NDT make sure to take last half or third of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

If TPO or TG thyroid antibodies are high this is usually due to Hashimoto’s (commonly known in UK as autoimmune thyroid disease).

About 90% of all primary hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto’s. Low vitamin levels are particularly common with Hashimoto’s. Gluten intolerance is often a hidden issue to.

Thats great info, Thank you :)

I Have Hashimotos & Cancer Survivor. I currently take Nature Throid, but have been told its tough to get in UK, if at all! Ive just moved back to UK after many years in US and trying to find a good lab & Dr!

Im wanting these tests: Advanced lipid panel / HsCRP, Homocysteine, Fibrinogen, MPO, OxLDL, Galectin 3, Nt-proBNP, CoQ10, LDL-P, VitD, HgbA1c, Fasting insulin, Free T3, Free T4, TSH, Rev T3, Tg, TPO Ab, Estrogen, Estradiol, DHEA-S, Testosterone & Progesterone.

Any specific lab you think can do all these?

reverse T3 is expensive and slow test (has to be flown to USA for processing)

Doesn’t tell you much either

So we don’t recommend it

All these can be done by companies listed

Advanced lipid panel, CRP , Homocysteine, VitD, HgbA1c, Fasting insulin, Free T3, Free T4, TSH, Rev T3, Tg, TPO Ab, Estrogen, Estradiol, DHEA-S, Testosterone & Progesterone.

Not heard of these

Fibrinogen, MPO, OxLDL, Galectin 3, Nt-proBNP, CoQ10, LDL-P,
