searching for NATURAL THYROID EXTRACT FROM ORGANIC ANIMALS

Hi there all, I've been away from the site for a while but am back because my meds (T4 & T3) dont seem to be keeping me feeling well. I'd like to change to organic natural thyroid extract asap. Can someone please give me the name & address please. No pig thyroid extract!!!

Any natural thyroid extract has to come from an animal. NDT comes from pigs. You can get thyroid glandular which comes in both porcine and bovine versions, but as it's a glandular there is no declared hormone content. Whether any of those are from organic sources you'd have to check, if they were I'm sure it would say in their description.

I believe this may be what you’re after, it’s from cattle and I think it ticks your boxes. I am sure it used to be from organic animals but read the small print to be certain. I don’t think you’ll get anything closer to what you are after. I have never used it so can’t comment on its efficacy:

It's not totally clear whether they only source from Certified organic animals, but does say NZ Herd is free from BSE, (mad cow disease), and they have banned the use of Hormone fed Animal feed.

Best to ask them directly about 'organic ?'

I don't recall ever seeing any desiccated thyroid from officially organic animals.

You might also have issues importing any desiccated thyroid product into France where it is illegal.

Anyway, I'm sure it depends on whether la douane notice. They might not. But we have seen reports of people having their attempted imports confiscated.

Sorry, but you believe wrong. It is illegal in France. HGH is also illegal for adults. Not only that, but it is illegal in France to import any prescription-only drug, bought without a prescrition. If it's picked up by customs it will be confiscated.

OK, so I'll see, if that is what freedom is in France then I'm disappointed, annoyed, lost my money and I'll have to complain and find a way to improve my Hashimoto condition and it pleases me and only me. Thanks for the info

Who ever told you there was freedom in France? It's no freer than any other country. All leaders are despots in thier own way. And, who are you going to complain to about that?

I'm not sure yet, but I will certainly try and find out a way to complain. You are right about each country being similar however some like France are out of date, retrograde and need to be shaken or what ever. We'll always think about the Levothyrox scandal.

The Levothyrox scandal is only the same as the Teva scandal in the UK. Not to mention all the brands of NDT that have had their ingredients changed making them worse than they were before. It's happening everywhere, not just in France. And, even if NDT isn't illegal in the UK, it's difficult to get prescribed - I'm sure there are some that would happily make it illegal.

Thyrovanz is from NZ grass-fed cattle. However, you would have to assess whether it fitted your organic criteria.

Why would you prefer not to take porcine thyroid? It´s said to most closely resemble human thyroid. I know there could be many reasons, I was just curious as to why you´d prefer bovine thyroid as that is the only alternative to porcine...?

Plus, if your current meds are not working for you, and you are already on T3, why do you think that natural thyroid extract would work any better as it also contains T3 + T4?

Well so many knowledgeable answers, it's quite astounding. And I can't even talk to an expert and get better or more info than on this forum. Many thanks to all. Last question bovine rather than pig: only because I heard, read that bovine extracts from NZ were of extra good quality and clean.
