My daughter was diagnosed with very low thyroid after her first son. She’s on 100 thyroxine - 4 years later she had another no problem. Since then she’s miscarried quite late both discovered through scan with no heartbeat around 15 weeks - all scans had been ok till then. Very distressing as it’s as though something just stops it from going further. I feel it could be something to do with her thyroid even though her second pregnancy after she was diagnosed was fine. She’s had a racing heart and dreadful headaches too during pregnancy. Can you help?

Missed or silent miscarriage
I'm very sorry about your daughter having a miscarriage. It seems not to be an uncommon experience for some who're hypothyroid.
The problem is that the medical professionals say we are 'fine' but I doubt they do a Full Thyroid Blood Test which is:-
TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. Blood tests should always be at the earliest possible, fasting (we can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of levo (or whatever we take, i.e. T4/T3, NDT etc.)
This is a link from Thyroiduk which I hope is helpful:-
Many doctors seem to think that if the TSH level is 'in range' that the person is on a sufficient dose of levo but that's not the case.
A Full Thyroid Function Test which should be at the earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test and take afterwards. A Full test is TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies.
