stop iron and anti depressant before blood draw for hypothyroidism?

Hello again to all you helpful souls at H.U.,

I'm due for a thyroid test again soon. I'm aware that I need to stop Vitamin B complex 7 days before. What about iron?

I also take Vitamin D and K2.

I've also started taking an anti depressant, 5 days ago. Should I stop that too before blood draw? Thank you, a for your informed replies, as always.

No the iron and antidepressant won't affect your thyroid test.

The Biotin in B Complex will affect any blood tests.

For thyroid only tests, everything else you can continue taking but take after the blood draw on the day of the test.

You only need to stop iron for 7 days if you are having an iron panel or Ferritin test.

If testing Vit D you carry on but take it after the blood draw on the day.
