Cheapest European country to buy liothyronine from?

I know some users fly to other countries like Greece and Turkey to buy their T3 meds because it's much cheaper than buying them here. Can anyone tell me how I can find out which country is cheapest? And when buying from a foreign pharmacy, is a prescription needed at all? Thank you.

I don't think there's much in it, a pack of T3 costs about 2-3 Euros over the counter if you can find a pharmacy that will sell you some. Greece apparently made it prescription only about 3 years ago but occasionally a member has managed to track the odd box down from the odd pharmacy but it can take some time to find a pharmacy that will do this. I don't know about Turkey, there was some mention of it being prescription only but not confirmed as far as know.

Barcelona / Spain do not have T3. They import it and you need a Spanish prescription.

The out skirts of France (quieter towns are hot and miss. You need to advise the shop that you are paying for them and not their nhs. I’ve heard you need an appointment with a doctor to get a prescription in Greece (€55+ euros). No clue about Turkey. Although I’d avoid northern Turkey if you’re travelling back without a prescription.

When we used to go cruising (those were the days) we’d spend part of every port visit calling into pharmacies and asking for T3; I’d take an empty packet in with me. At some places they’d never heard of T3. Sometimes I got lucky but could only ever get 2 pack of 100 at most - better than nowt.

You can buy T3 (Tiromel) in Turkey OTC and it costs about 3-4 euro per 100.

No prescription needed .

Hello could you send me the details of this pharmacy please I’m feeling quite upset at the moment endocrinologist in k,l, said he would trial me on 3 months t 3 , cut a long story short I had been waiting over 6 months to see one in the meantime I had moved to bury anyway he said as I had waited so long he would prescribe it but dr would have to take over after 3 months, because it took so long to get sorted at dr s then get bloods then get them printed off he told me to have bloods 2 weeks took so long ended up over 6 weeks now he’s saying drs won’t take it on so he’s not going to prescribe now I feel awful as I know you have to come down on thyroxine which I started to do after blood draw so now I’m in no man’s land , as feel worse than ever , oh I’m sorry to go on ,just looked up it don’t look like a short one sorry kowbie
