When did you take your last dose of T3 before this test?

I think it was about 9 hours after my afternoon dose.

OK, so that's within the recommended time frame of 8-12 hours so you should have a pretty accurate result there.

It could just be a case of you need more T3, we are all very individual in what we need, some members need T3 only.

Are your vitamins all optimal?

My other blood work is ok and I supplement to keep them good. I thought this was already a pretty high dose. I am thinking maybe increase my afternoon dose to a full 25mg, so that will be 50mg per day.

It may be a pretty high dose for some people, but others may need it much higher. It's a very individual thing.

Is your T3 prescribed or are you self sourcing?

It’s self sourced, but my endocrinologist is aware that I take it. Could it be the brand maybe? It’s tiromel. Thank you for your response, by the way. I wouldn’t know where to turn without you x

Yes, I was thinking maybe the brand.

How long have you been taking Tiromel?

Is it a new batch?

Is it the same supplier?

Has a previous batch been OK and now you're noticing it's not as effective?

(Don't name supplier on the forum).

Same supplier, new batch. It has been consistently low for ages and this time slightly lower.

I’ve been taking tiromel for over a year.

If your symptoms and FT3 result has been the same since you started takingTiromel it could be worth looking at a different brand.

Or did you use a different brand before Tiromel and got on better with it?

Tiromel is the brand I have always used.

Tiromel is the brand I have always used.

So have you every felt it has worked for you and had reasonable FT3 levels, and was there a time it became not so effective?

I'm trying to establish whether you could possibly have a bad batch or whether it's never been of benefit. If you've never felt any benefit from it then I'd try a different brand. Grossman Cytomel is said, by some, to be the Rolls Royce of T3.

Was test done early morning before eating or drinking any thing apart from water?

What time was last dose levothyroxine and last dose T3

JBL312 profile image
JBL312 in reply toSlowDragon

I had to time it differently because of my afternoon dose, but it was 9 hours after t3 and 18 hours after levo.
