Please help. I feel awful all the time. I can't seem to bring up my ferritin inspite of talking iron with vitamin c. I feel tightness around my neck but in the tge upper area like where my glands are, I guess. Constant headache. Low mood. Can't come up with words quickly. Menstrual cramps throughout the month. Muscle weakness and tension. Occasional sore throat. Feeling like I can't get enough air and low heartbeat.
My question is, should I self-medicate and how would I go about it? My doctor says I don't even need a referral to am endocrinologist because my thyroid is fine.

Look up Dr. Izabella Wentz and Tom Brimeyer online... I read some controversial non intuitive stuff about iron and ferritin and supplementation and how iron gets absorbed, or not, and builds up in the tissues, but cannot remember what it was, unfortunately... Premenopause I took iron supplements from behind the counter, which worked for me... Not the stuff off the shelves which was too weak and contained gluten... Have been meaning to revisit the subject...
Also, never take iron together with your thyroid medication as it will block it... Take it several hours later... And do not take iron and zinc together, as they cancel each other out... Told to me by functional doctor Shamim Daya, not sure if we are allowed to mention doctors here or not, but I also saw Dr. Michael Culp in London.
