B12...178ng/L. (120-625) ng/L is the same as pg/ml

This is very low. You should ask your GP to test for B12 deficiency and pernicious anaemia. You may require B12 injections. This should be tested for before considering self supplementing.

You can check for signs of B12 deficiency here:

b12deficiency.info/signs-an...

and if you have any then you should list them to discuss with your GP.

According to an extract from the book, "Could it be B12?" by Sally M. Pacholok:

"We believe that the 'normal' serum B12 threshold needs to be raised from 200 pg/ml to at least 450 pg/ml because deficiencies begin to appear in the cerebrospinal fluid below 550".

"For brain and nervous system health and prevention of disease in older adults, serum B12 levels should be maintained near or above 1000 pg/ml."

Folate..8.7ug/1 Volume not specified.

Sometimes there is a range, sometimes there is just a low limit, eg >3.89. If there's a range then folate is recommended to be at least half way through range. If there's just a low limit then raising level into double figures is what I would want. This can be helped by a good quality, bioavailable B Complex, but this should not be started before further testing for B12 deficiency/PA as the folate it contains will mask signs of B12 deficiency. You should start a B Complex after B12 injections or a B12 supplement is started.

Ferritin..34ug/L. (11-307)

This is low, ferritin is recommended to be half way through range. Low ferritin can suggest iron deficiency anaemia so you should ask your GP to an iron panel and full blood count.

Vit D. 25-OH. 73 nmol/1 (50nmol).

The Vit D Council recommends a level of 125nmol/L and the Vit D Society recommends a level of 100-150nmol/L.

To reach the recommended level from your current level, based on the Vit D Council's suggestions you could supplement with 3,000iu D3 daily.

Retest after 3 months.

Once you've reached the recommended level then you'll need a maintenance dose to keep it there, which may be 2000iu daily, maybe more or less, maybe less in summer than winter, it's trial and error so it's recommended to retest once or twice a year to keep within the recommended range. You can do this with a private fingerprick blood spot test with an NHS lab which offers this test to the general public:

Doctors don't know, because they're not taught much about nutrients, but there are important cofactors needed when taking D3 as recommended by the Vit D Council.

D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and Vit K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems such as hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, etc.

D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds if taking D3 as tablets/capsules/softgels, no necessity if using an oral spray.

Magnesium helps D3 to work. We need Magnesium so that the body utilises D3, it's required to convert Vit D into it's active form. So it's important we ensure we take magnesium when supplementing with D3.

Magnesium comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds if taking magnesium as tablets/capsules, no necessity if using topical forms of magnesium.

They are saying that your vitamin levels are normal purely because they are in range. However, it's where in range they fall that is important and just because they are within range doesn't mean "optimal" or even "recommended". You only have to look at the width of the B12 range to know that you would feel very different if you were at the low end of the range compared to the high end of the range, same with Ferritin. I have interpreted your results and given the recommended levels, so you have to decide where to go from there.

To know if you have iron deficiency you need an iron panel that includes serum iron, transferrin saturation and Total Iron Binding Capacity as well as Ferritin. To know if you have anaemia you need MCV MCH and haemoglobin from a full blood count.

A high lymphocyte level means that your body is dealing with infection or inflammation at the time of the test.

Candida is a yeast/fungal infection, usually it's Candida Albicans, it can be in the mouth, throat, gut, vagina.

Have you seen your GP about it, and there are lots of suggestions for home or natural remedies found with a search engine

Yoghurt is a fermented food. For some people, fermented foods exacerbate candida. Interesting article here amymyersmd.com/2019/01/why-...
