I usually take little vegi-caps, but wonder whether they are being absorbed well. I liked the idea of this because it has nothing seemingly artificial in it and because of the flexibility you would have with dosing to adjust upwards or downwards if you needed to. The direction is to add to a glass of water or to drop directly into the mouth. I'd be going for the dropping it into the mouth option - would that get it into my system better than a capsule does anyone think?

I used to use Vitabay Organic liquid but changed back to Doctor's Best softgels.
You can take it sublingually (under the tongue) and hold for up to a minute if you can, that way it should be absorbed through the mucous membranes and bypass the stomach.
Brilliant Seaside Susie - thanks for posting this reply so quickly!! I was hoping someone might come back with something along those lines because I would like to try to bypass what might be a useless digestive system at the minute for a nutrient which is so important. I love sublingual dosing.
Can I ask a follow up question re dosing? When, like as now, we are able to make D3 from sunshine, do we need to continue to dose with supplemental vitamins or can we rely on what our bodies make from the sun alone?
Some of us can make enough Vit D in the summer months, some of us can't. I can't sit out in the sun, even after 5 mi utes my legs feel like they're burning even with trousers on. So I have to take the same amount all year round. If you know that you make a good amount of Vit D in the summer months then you may be able to take less, even none during those months.
We should retest twice a year to check our levels, I usually do it April and October/November.
Thanks Seaside Susie - what I normally do is supplement from October to April and then stop as soon as I know I am making vitamin D - I certainly take enough sun when it is here to do so but should test - am due to do a medichecks very soon so that will let me know where my levels are .
Hi there thanks for this - I have have subcribed to their newsletter - good product - manufactured in UK - no ingredients coming in from China or other countries. A lot of nutritional ingredients are imported which worried me at the best of times. I would buy their products and thanks for letting me know about them.
Does it say anywhere that the ingredients are from the UK, I can see it says "made in the UK" but can't find anything about where the ingredients are from.
True..................probably not then. Would need to ask as i have done on many an occasion before I buy from a company - but the amount of ingredients that were eventually coming in from China over the years - even Armour and ERFA I believe - made it virtually impossible to find anything that wasn't imported. Just have to make sure the company is using best practice.
Yes, I agree. It's not always easy to find out. I use a progesterone cream that makes a point of say it has no Chinese ingredients, it was recommended by a practioner who said it was the only one that didn't contain Chinese ingredients.
Also, most Vit C (ascorbic acid form) comes from China so I use Acerola Cherry powder, I'm pretty sure that's not from China
Hi there - things will change I believe after this but it will take time. Cosmetics are the worst -about 15 years ago I was talking with a young man who was thinking of starting up a cosmetic line and was off to China to source the ingredients - most of them now come from there - even the expensive brands - which makes it pointless to spend much - decades ago you got what you paid for but now they just hike the price with the same ingredients as Rimmel.
I'm about to place an order for that brand Seaside Susie - in addition to the no Chinese ingredients apparently Dr J Lee is reputed to have said that he considered it to be the purest form of natural progesterone cream - another good reason for buying it. I am very dubious about Chinese ingredients in everything - they think nothing of using toxic water supplies to irrigate their plants.
