What’s the correct way to switch from taking my synthroid at 6am to start taking it at night?
Let’s say I took the pill today at 6am, do I take it again at night and start today or do I have to wait till tomorrow and skip the usual time at 6am and start taking it at night?

Ralph1985, As others have mentioned, if doesn't matter too much how you do it, as this is a slow acting treatment.
When I was very undermedicated I struggled to do it, and found I got on much better by taking both the morning and evening dose on the day of switching. Lalatoot's suggestions are also good as very gentle ways of doing it. But I think you only need to bother with any of these if you're very sick or if you suspect you're super sensitive to dosing.
The hard part is making sure you have an empty stomach when you go to bed. (So that you cana absorb the medication efficiently) Most people eat their largest meal in the evening, it takes most of your sleeping hours to digest it and empty your stomach for the next day.
Wow! Thank you for your comprehensive reply. I’ll have a good read of all of those and make a decision. I’ve just started to introduce thyroxine again after being on T3 only for 3 years. Previous to T3 only I was in NDT and then Levo prior to that. I was so run down and generally unwell on both but particularly on Levo. Thanks to all the good advice on here I now have good nutrient levels. I’m working towards optimal T4 and T3 levels now. I want to take me medication in the best way possible. Thank you again for all of this information.
Thank you Helvella. I wish I didn’t have to take it. It’s so stressful trying to get T3.
I wish I’d discovered this forum long again. I’ve had an underactive thyroid for 22 years and I’m now 44. I’m beginning to get myself on the road to good health now! The advice of this forum is invaluable.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to help me. It’s greatly appreciated.
