Just wondering how long before your levothyroxine would you have eaten or had a hot drink? Thinking of taking Levo before I go to bed instead of 6am.
Night time levothyroxine : Just wondering how... - Thyroid UK
Night time levothyroxine
raine-wager
If your main meal is in the evening, it should be a good 3 hours between that and Levo.
It should be water only one hour either side of Levo.
Do you know if decaffeinated tea (no milk or sugar) is counted as water or is it in the avoid category?
From what I've read, decaffeinated tea retains a small amount of caffeine. However, i also contains flouride
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/885...
The mean fluoride content of decaffeinated tea infusions is significantly (p < 0.01) higher than the corresponding caffeinated tea. The use of mineral water containing a naturally high fluoride level during the process of decaffeination is the most likely explanation of the above observation.
and flouride causes thyroid problems and should be avoided by us Hypos.
So personally I would stick to plain water.
Hello my daughter 5 is on this .my dear god that got be most hardest thing having wake poor lass up early to get her to take her tablet is not fun but she does it bless her it the waiting hour i ussally give it for it settle then she can eat got be hardest bit she seem to turn into a monster haha so between hour half hour i would say i no any time before she get belly ache
You can give her a bedtime dose and just make sure she's eaten at least a few hours (3 hours for adults) before if she's had a meal or if just a snack it would, of course, be less. Due to hypo our digestion is slower than someone who doesn't have hypo.
It might suit both of you better. If having a blood test next a.m. miss bedtime dose and take after the blood test and night dose as usual on the same day.
