Hi guys, I have just had my latest results back following the addition of Metavive I to my Levi (125mcg daily. I introduced Metavive I approx. 5 moths ago, starting with 15mg daily and slowing increased up to 45mg over the last few months, in the hope to increase my T3. The great thing is my free T3 has increased (it was always right at the bottom of the range) and that was my ultimate goal.
It has also brought my T4 up above range. I don’t have any Hyper symptoms. Is it ok for my T4 to be elevated and also long term? My TSH is suppressed and has been for a good few years.
Also, I’m disappointed to see my anti-bodies up as I am strict gluten free, alcohol free, sugar free, dairy free (apart from eggs and the odd splash of cream in “chicory coffee substitute”). I’ve have been under the weather lately, and was when my bloods were taken. Could this affect/raise the anti-bodies?
I have an appointment with an Endo at St Thomas’s Hospital in May. I’m wondering what I am best to do with:
A) Metavive going forward
B) How to prepare for my Endo appointment in order to get the best outcome. This is my second referral & visit. I want to make it count.
I’ve done so many things (strict and consistent too) over the last couple years, all I want is some energy, and of course wellness. I would really appreciate your advice on the above. Thank you in advance. Mandy

If Levo was 24 hours before blood draw and Metavive 8-12 hours before blood draw then your results suggest a reduction in Levo to bring it back into range. Retest 6-8 weeks later to see how that affects both FT4 and FT3 results. If FT4 has reduced and also FT3 has reduced, I'd increase the Metavive to try and increase the FT3.
B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast
Igennus Super B complex are nice small tablets. Often only need one tablet per day, not two. Certainly only start with one tablet per day after breakfast. Retesting levels in 6-8 weeks
Or Thorne Basic B or jarrow B-right are other options that contain folate, but both are large capsules
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
Don't worry about the antibodies. The fact that they have risen doesn't mean anything. And, if they drop, it still doesn't mean anything. You know you have Hashi's, and that isn't going to change whatever the antibodies do, because the antibodies are not the disease.
So, if you're gluten/etc-free just because of trying to reduce antibodies, and not because it makes you feel better, then it really isn't worth the effort.
Thanks.....I always appreciate your feedback because you are straight down the line and happy to put your thoughts forward without padding 👍
I go “free” of so much nowadays because of allergies, Candida, bloating, being insulin resistant & to aid in my journey to better health. My body was giving me feedback one, two years ago and even two sips of alcohol would incite an immediate reaction of flushing, blotches, itching (and palpations if I was to have two drinks). Gluten made me bloat (I once got told I looked 8 months pregnant!!) and it also made me so tired within 15 minutes of consuming it. Dairy is a known inflammatory so I cut that right out. I have since introduced a splash cream a few times a week but I’m keeping an eye.
Cutting out gluten clearly doesn’t reduce anti bodies (well at least not for me) because I have been negative of anti bodies & off over the years when I was eating bread/pasta etc. Now I’m much “cleaner” they are raised??
I started Metavive on the advice of Dr Sarah Myhill because of it being more natural, but she said try that first and see how I go, T3 being the next option. My plan is to finish a Candida cleanse I am on, Check all my vitamin/mineral levels, increase/add supplements if needed, then consider my options of Thyroid support alongside or instead of Levo.
I am currently reading a book “How to get well with T3” which will no doubt help support me along the way. I do feel instinctively that T3 is what will be right for me. I tested positive for the DIO2 gene and everything points to not enough T3.
Sorry for the long reply.......needed to get things off my chest. Thanks for “listening” 😊 Mandy

What do you mean by 'thyroid support'? You should be very wary of anything that calls itself 'thyroid support' - for 'support' read 'stimulate'! Your thyroid is probably beyond all support, by now, anyway. And, anything that contains copper, iodine or calcium is an absolute no-no. Apart from that, they just seem to contain B vits - you can take a B complex for that - and/or adaptogens, which are very haphazard and don't suit everyone. Far better to test and try individual nutrients.
