I need your helpful advice on my new lab results, I have an appointment next week and I am sure my Doc will want to change my dosage because of the latest results.
I am currently on 88 mcg of Levoxil and 5 mcg of cytomel(genetic) based on the new results, should I keep the cytomel and reduce the Levoxyl?
Here are the new blood results
FT4 1.53(.85-1.76)
FT3 4.2(2.3-4.2)
TSH 0.01(.27-4.68).
I should mention that I have osteoporosis.

Well your T3 and T4 look great to me! Do you feel well? If so, I'd keep the meds at the level they are (if it ain't broke and all that}
You had some great replies to your previous post, explaining why your TSH is suppressed and helping you deal with the GP if they wanted to change your meds before. If that worked before, I'd go back and re-read them before your next appointment.

Yea, I feel well and I am not worried about the TSH been suppressed , I am worry that she will want to take me of the Cytomel because of osteoporosis. I rather have a Levoxyl decrease instead. But will see.

Vit D3 29 no range given but according to my Dr is in "normal" range. But I know very well that it needs to be higher than that.
Folate was not tested.
I have been taking 5000IU of vitamin D3 drops daily but obviously is doing nothing. I have to find me a better vitamin D3 supplent.
Sorry, no I don't have Hashis and I don't have a thyroid either. My thyroid was removed last year due to Hurtle Cell adenoma.

Yes, I believe it will if the levo is reduce. I think.
Taking T3 will lower your TSH. You had thyroid cancer it's recommended to keep TSH low (I'm in same boat thyroid cancer) I have mild osteopenia.
I'm on 100mcg synthyroid and 10mcg cytomel and my TSH is low but not below the range.
If the Doctor says to reduce meds I would tell him/her NO Increase my T4 meds which will bring up your TSH a bit ... NO REDUCTION of meds your already on a low dose for someone without a thyroid, you can't live without meds.

So you think is it better to increase the levo rather that reduce it? Wouldn't the higher the levo the more suppressed the TSH? If the levo is increase wouldn't the Ft4 increase? I am so confused.
No. the higher T3 meds the lower the TSH. I could be wrong but I believe T3 meds are 3xs more powerful then T4.
Your only on 5mcg cytomel (t3) that's not alot. If you bump up your T4 meds a little and keep your T3 meds the same your TSH should go up a bit.
You would probably go up to 100mcg Levo and 5mcg Cytomel and retest 6-8weeks.
I would not worry about all the other numbers unless your having symptoms with being (hypo or hyper). Because as you are already aware of the Endos/GPs don't care.
I guarantee the Endo will want to take away your T3 meds and leave you on just the T4 meds.
Quick question: Did you take your thyroid meds prior to the blood test above? Are you taking any other prescription medications? Some medications can affect your labs (antidepressants) are a big one.

No, I don't take other meds, the only supplement I take is Vit D3 and that's it. I took only the T3 at midnight(12:00 AM exactly) and tested at 7:30 AM...fasting at the time.
Hmm then I don’t know. But you have no thyroid you need meds and not a tiny dose 88mcg is not a big dose of T4 and 5mcg Cytomel isn’t a lot but could be perfect for you.
I was on 88mcg synthyroid and 10mcg Cytomel Prior to the 100mcg and my TSH shot up to 1.47 and I didn’t feel bad but I was retaining more water. I can only imagine what your TSH will shoot up to less taking less than 88mcg and only 5mcg Cytomel.
Ultimately you have to do what is right for you!
Yea, that's my dilemma, I don't know if I should go up or down on the Levoxyl but I definitely want to keep the T3. I am not sure if my age/weight plays a role on the dose?
I will be 65 yo tomorrow and my weight is 104 lbs so maybe my initial dose was based on my weight?

I have read tons about dosing suppose to be on weight (I have never been dosed by weight and it doesn’t seem like most people are) Now your age very well could come into play with your dosing I have read a bit about age.

I just came back from my appointment and like I suspected she(dr) wanted to take my T3 away and I say no, I told her that I have no hyper symptoms and was feeling really well. She still insisted that I should reduce my dose because of osteoporosis. I agree to reduce Levoxyl to 75 mcg on a trial basis and retest in three months and that I will give her a call if not feeling well, then I will need to go back on the same dose as I am now. She agreed to that...compromise you know.
Oh, I have no problem with my regular Dr, if I ask to prescribe something or to run certain blood tests...she does. Actually, I am very happy with her, when I ask her to prescribe cytomel because I wasn't feeling well with Levo only, to my surprise, she did. She wasn't sure at the beginning but she did it anyways. She is very nice, she answers to all my questions and spends the time to explain everything to a great detail without worrying about the time spend with me. She spends anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour.
Nowdays, Dr's are so rushed that the most time they spend with patients is fifteen minutes...no my Dr. So I think I'll keep her.

I go to the clinic of the local hospital so I don't think that qualifies as private...right?

Oh, that's a shame. I don't understand why most Drs don't understand that patients with thyroid disease, especially people with no thyroid need to be treated differently.

I agree, you don't need to risk it! I hope that one of these days you're going to find a Dr that will treat you right...because we all deserved to be treated well. But if you ever come to the USA let me know so we can get together for some coffee or tea?
