Hot Body Temp + Night Sweats.

I have been experiencing Hot Body Temp + Night Sweats for the last week. I have for the last month slept with window open and in summer sleepwear.

Do you think it could be the increase in Levo. Which I just did month ago. Attached are results I have shown before. Just can’t put my finger on why. I have also experienced 3 nights of serious hot flushes.

I had all my female and male hormones tested at the beginning of the year...they showed I was fertile and far from menopause... I am 39 and scientifically morbidly obese at a height of 5ft I weigh 91 kgs. I have just had - cholesterol/ Blood Pressure & Cholesterol checked and that’s all good...

I also started weaning of a drug called Clonazepan for my anxiety ( well I have last 3 months) but this was another dose decrease on my night tablet...

Any input would be appreciated. From the results - I have increased my Vitamin D and B12 this week x

In April 2019 you were taking 10mcg T3.

Did you not get on with T3 that you are no longer taking it?

Levothyroxine was likely dropped too much when T3 was added - as shown by below range FT4 at next test

Are you taking a good quality daily vitamin B complex?

Vitamin D needs to be higher, at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol may be better

See you have recently gone strictly gluten free. Has this reduced any symptoms?

Hi,

Thank you for response. During April for thos two weeks. I asked the doctor to put me on T3 - he did not want to but did. So we tried it out and then my T3 went to high. So he decided to take it down to 75 mcg. I changed endos and my new endo after an hour consulation told me that all my symptoms were not because of my thyroid. However he would increase the meds to what I was initially on for two years. Then in November - I was still having many symptoms so my NHS GP increased my dosage to 125 mcg. I then moved towns. I have not seen new GP yet. However I was to have a consultation to see how the new dosage is going. I have been using Medi Check for blood results since June.

The vitamin B Complex I have been taking has always been 1000 ug. It is by Nu U Nutrition. (I think it may be good - I dont know) Since the tests results on the 9th this month. I have increased my B12 to 2000ug. I am yet to get a complex. If I do - do I take it with the B12 ? or only the complex?

The vitamin D I was put on prescibed meds from April to June. I cannot remember amount. My NHS GP did not want to prescirbe and send I must get from over the counter. So I bought 4000 IU and took that until 3 days ago whereby I increased to 8000 IU. Its is also by Nu U Nutrition. I am taking it with vitamin K same brand and 200ug.

Someone mentioned I could be pre menapausal. I REALLY hope it is not that!!! I dont have children yet....

I am a bit lost here as to what it could be. I was going to test in 6 weeks again - I think I will in 4 weeks instead. See if the TSH has not gone to high.. and see if the increase in B12 and D3 has increased.

I was supposed to go GF. I have now (a week) . Where I can feel the difference is my headaches have been reduced and also my stomach does not get ppains any more and less gas.

Thank you x

As you have Hashimoto's, and poor gut function, many of us find using vitamin D mouth spray works best as its absorbed in mouth not gut

Better you make a 3000iu spray - 2 options - 3 sprays per day with vitamin K2 mk7 (it last 30 days) or 2nd option is 3000iu single spray - lasts 100 days

Look at adding a separate magnesium supplement. Must be four hours away from taking Levothyroxine. Calm vitality magnesium powder is cheap and easy to use, but can cause diarrhoea. Re-mag is good, but expensive, doesn't upset gut. Seasidesusie may have other suggestions

As you B12 is on low side I woukd take both B12 and vitamin B complex .....at the moment. Igennus Super B is good small tablets, just one in morning after breakfast is probably enough. Perhaps slowly phase out the separate B12 in month or so

Sounds like you are going to benefit from strictly gluten free diet.

Low B12 can cause night sweats. Functional low B12 is very common with Hashimoto's....despite reasonable looking levels ....B12 is not working correctly.

Suspect you may eventually need addition of small dose of T3 back again. But getting vitamins optimal and steady on strictly gluten free diet first steps ...many of us do with Hashimoto's when gluten intolerant

Perhaps consider DIO2 gene test in new year.
