The latest Tania Smith's contribution assesses the latest posters from Abbvie (makers of Synthroid) in which they try purely by TSH criteria to boost there product against generic thyroxine. Good dmoltion of truly terrible work by big Pharma trying to promote their product over others. See Canadian Thyroid Campaign.

I remember reading a post on this forum, possibly 3 or 4 years ago now. I wish I'd bookmarked it. The person writing this particular post had been told by a UK doctor that fatigue was not a symptom of hypothyroidism.

Can you believe it?!?!?

Your reminding me humanbean of the beginning of my Thyroid Journey. It's so mind boggling . I was told for years my thyroids where fine . And that my symptoms where not related to my thyroids . I should see an Allergist . Fifteen years later I had TT . You can't make this up . Patients know *Best* . I wish that Dr's would be mindful conscientious and *Listen* more to patients .By the time patients seek help the Dr's get the best diagnosis from the patients themselves . Making the Dr jobs so very easy .

Lest anyone is not aware, AbbVie recently bought Allergan - who themselves own what used to be Forest - makers of Armour.

(And a confusing name change from Actavis to Allergan.

The Patient Information for Armour is at this link - which contains the names "allergan" and "actavis" - both twice!

"Symptoms such as tiredness, constipation, depression, cold intolerance and weight gain, are often associated with hypothyroidism (HT) "

I wonder how many of these would be ticked off per doctor and per patient if they were given the list. I have, or have had, well over 20 of the ones listed!

And why haven't they included other of the potentially serious symptoms such as heart irregularities? Or the fairly indicative symptoms such as sparse outer third of eyebrows and slow Achilles tendon reflex?
