Hello again

After my last post I returned to the doctors and was given an increase of T3 - (now 20)

, also still on T4 (75)

Yesterday I received my latest blood test results

TSH-0.04

T4- 14

T3- 4.5- range (3.9-6.8)

I have also been taking supplements , including Vit D spray .

I definitely feel better - maybe not ideal but workable . The doctors commented that this rresult was ok

Unfortunately I have just found out my doctor is leaving .......

Any comments on the result , and can someone send me the link to find out the percentage through range each reading is ?

I seem to have lost it

Thanks all

You have only posted the reference range for FT3, please include the reference range for FT4 as well so that we can interpret your results and comment.

I have also been taking supplements , including Vit D spray .

Did you test Vit D as advised? What was the result? The dose of D3 you take needs to be based on your current level, excess D3 is stored and can lead to toxicity level and if you don't take enough it wont help, so it's important to ensure you take the correct dose. D3 also has important cofactors - magnesium and Vit K2-MK7 - are you also taking those?

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Assuming ranges same as previous results

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Last results were

FT4 only 18% through range

FT3 zero % through range

These results

FT4 only 23% through range

FT3 only 20% through range

If the only difference between the two was improving low vitamin levels that's an impressive improvement

You're likely to need increase in Levothyroxine as well as T3

But only increase one at a time

Getting bloods retested 6-8 weeks after increase in T3

Hello slow dragon

Thank you for your reply .

I was Previously taking 15 mcg of T3 with 75 T4 but for the last 2 months have been taking an increased dose of T3 ( an extra 5mcg ) making the new dose 20 mcg plus the same 75 msg of T4 . I am taking all my tests as advised here

Thank you

So you still need further dose increase.

Perhaps upping Levothyroxine by 25mcg as next step

Retesting 6-8 weeks later
